Living and studying in the United Kingdom

With so many attractions, diverse cultures and the chance to connect with friends from all over the world, a time in the UK will change your life. Find out more about living and studying in the UK and get ready to enjoy valuable experiences in the country.

United Kingdom

The UK is made up of four countries – England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland – each with their own distinctive culture and many places to explore.

From busy cities to snow-capped peaks, green hills to the highlands and beautiful islands, the UK is a great place with lots of interesting things to discover. The UK is relatively small, with convenient transportation, so you will be able to visit and travel in a lot of places during your stay.

Student life

Studying in the UK gives you a great student life that suits your personality and interests. You will have a wealth of opportunities to make friends and learn new things while studying here.

At the beginning of the school year, universities will hold “Welcome Week”, commonly known as “Freshers' Week”, to welcome new students. During this time, clubs and organizations in the school often organize events to find new members. It is a great way to help you learn about the student life at the school you are attending, besides pursuing what you love.

Most universities have a wide selection of clubs and unions that are suitable for everyone. Whether you want to be discussed about politics, learn how to make cakes, join a band, or go swimming, you'll definitely find activities you love at these clubs.

Not only is it an opportunity to meet people who share your interests and have a good time, joining clubs will also help you to gain experience and develop soft skills that will be useful for your future job application. Many clubs on campus also offer students the opportunity to try out organizing events, raising funds for charities, or volunteering, so that students can get a good start in applying for jobs in the future.

Weather and Climate

The weather in the United Kingdom is often associated with rain, as it is very unpredictable. There is no rainy season and it can rain no matter what day or season of the year. In just one afternoon, you can experience all kinds of weather from beautiful sunshine, stormy winds to drizzle!

But if you know how to prepare yourself and dress appropriately, you can enjoy England regardless of the weather. Nothing like relaxing by the river in the gentle sunshine, dancing in the mud at a music festival, or taking part in a “war” of snowballs with friends.

Religious diversity

Although the official religion of the United Kingdom is Christianity, England remains a multi - religious country.

In the UK, any discrimination on the grounds of race, nationality or religion is considered illegal. You will be respected no matter what your religion is, on the contrary, you also need to respect the religion of others.
