1. Conditions for studying in Japan: What age is appropriate?
Persons who are full 18 years old, have graduated from high school in Vietnam, or equivalent level of high school 12 years in foreign countries.
There is no age limit for students to study in Japan. Students who apply to study in Japan must at least graduate from high school. For those who graduated from a College or University, this will be an advantage. For those who are 30 years old or older, if you can prove your study and work progress throughout and without interruption in the period from six months to a year, it is possible to proceed to study in Japan.
2. What are the Japanese language requirements?
In addition to studying at Japanese schools, you also have to live by yourself. Therefore, you need to have a basic Japanese level to not have difficulties outside the school hours. For those who do not have a certificate of Japanese, you can still register to study in Japan, if you have a certificate of having studied about 150 hours of Japanese at Japanese language schools in Vietnam. However, only some Japanese language schools in Vietnam are eligible to provide a certificate accepted by the Japanese.
3. Conditions for studying in Japan: Financial conditions
In order to study in Japan, especially in the case of self-sufficiency study, you need to prepare fully financially. Depending on the school and program you choose, financial conditions will be different. The cost of preparation will usually include the cost of records, translation, cost of Japanese language proficiency test, airfare, first year tuition and dormitory fees for the first 3-6 months in Japan.
4. What documents are required to meet the conditions for studying in Japan?
- Application form.
- A transcript of your academic performance in Vietnam.
- Certificates of courses you have taken.
- Letter of introduction of competent agencies and units.
- - The certificate of financial capability and solvency.
- Health certificate.
- Application Fee.
- Documents related to the guarantor.
- The results of the interview with the guarantor.
- Test results in the host countries.
With large, prestigious schools and good teaching quality in Japan, there will be 4 admission rounds in a year: January, April, July and October. They will receive applications 5 months before each admission round, then will review the application and submit it to the Japan Immigration Bureau. The Japan Immigration Bureau receives the application, reviews it and notifies the results to the schools 2 months before each admission round.
5. When will I receive the results if I am eligible to study in Japan?

The Japan Immigration Bureau will notify and send the Permit to enter Japan to the schools before 2 months of each admission period. Specifically: if enrolled in January, then December will receive a notice; enrolled in April, then February will receive a notice; enrolled in July, then May will receive a notice; enrolled in October, then August will receive a notice.
In addition to the above conditions, you also need to meet the conditions of good health and personal status, and have never applied for a student visa in Japan again!
